Brian Eno called Harmonia “the most important band in the world”. That title should really have already persuaded you to give this record a whirl but here’s some background info anyway: in 1976 Eno holed up for eleven days in Harmonia’s Cologne studio and recorded what was to become ‘Tracks & Traces’. It’s a superb collection of krautrock with inviting pastoral undertones and a sense of rigorous experimentalism. This reissue contains three previously unreleased songs that were only made possible because of modern tape cleaning equipment. Marvellous.
